This blog is to showcase steals, thrills, & mega deals in the shopping world. By this, I don't mean snatching up a Coach bag off E-bay for a couple hundred bones...I mean snatching up EVERYDAY needs (& sometimes wants) for pennies on the dollar...ie- children's socks for $1, cream of mushroom soup for 50 cents, Old Navy skirts for 99 cents...got it? Feel free to pass any of YOUR fab finds my way & I'll post them, giving credit to you of course. Happy Savings!

Your Second Challenge. Go Ahead & Laugh...but

...you'll be surprised that you TRULY can make your toilet paper roll go much farther than it is now.

Challenge for Feb 2nd. It's an easy way to score 1 POINT:

Every time you visit the porcelain throne today, use about 3 less squares of tp than you usually do.

Sounds ridiculous, I know, but if you started this habit, let's see:

This is math regarding the Ladies. Men-folk, I have no idea what you do in there.

Ladies, Please.
Each Kirkland Brand roll of toilet paper has 425 sheets.

If you are currently using 7 sheets per pit stop,
that allows for 60.714 pit stops.
If you are pit stopping 6 times a day,
that roll will last you, and only you, 10.12 days.

HOWEVER...

If you use 3 less squares per visit, here are your NEW calculations:
425 sheets divided by 4 pieces of TP = 106.25 pit stops.
If you're still going 6 times per day,
that 1 roll will last you, and only you, 17.71 days.

Using 3 squares less per stop will allow your roll to last about 1 WEEK LONGER!
Now that's some money you're not flushing down the pipes!

I can tell my husband is going to love this little game much more than I originally thought. Not only am I encouraging the world to save $, but I'm doing math as well.

Ahhh...spoken like a true accountant's wife.

PS- if you're new here, THIS LINK will take you to the rules of the game and THIS HERE LINK will take you to the first challenge...it's not too late!

*REMEMBER*
Leave a comment at the end of the day letting me know you fulfilled the daily challenge so I can document your points!

Considering I'm on my last roll in the house this is good advice. I never realized how much I pull off at one time.

I really should check for spelling errors. They drive me crazy. Now for my second attempt at posting...

Mission accomplished! Thanks for the challenge. It got me thinking about what else we can do around the house to save and I came up with a list!
thanks

Great challenge! I tried it myself, and since I'm still doing the "paper work" for my four year old after she goes, I did it for her too. I must admit, wiping my daughter's bum with less protection around my hand gave me second thoughts, but I guess that's what hands washing is for.

Can't wait to see what tomorrow's challenge will be!

Hayley, I failed. It's a great idea, and I could spare most of the yardage I use every day--but I never remembered at the key moments today! But it is a good habit I should try to incorporate. Here's to doing better tomorrow!

I forgot to report back on this one. I'm with Ashley on this one...I kept forgetting at key moments and using my usual 5 or 6 squares. Rats!
